On Saturday July 2nd Concordville Fire Company was dispatched to a building fire with reported smoke in the building. Upon arrival, the crew from 59-2 found a smoke condition on the basement and first floor of the two story historic building. The building was constructed in 1882 and for many years was the train station for Pennsylvania Railroad. This line was an extension of the present day Media Elwyn line that still serves the community ending at Elwyn. The cause of the smoke was determined to be a hot water heater that shorted out due to a water leak above it. there was no structural damage to the building.
