Back in August the officers from Brandywine Hundred Fire Company in Delaware contacted the officers at 59 to request a scheduled cover up with Tower Ladder 59 while their members attended the Delaware State Fire Convention Parade on Saturday September 19th.
Early Saturday morning Tower Ladder 59 and a crew of 5 arrived at New Castle Station 11 to begin the cover assignment scheduled from 7am to 5pm. Once there the members were briefed by Brandywine Hundred's Assistant Chief on the local, we were joined on the cover by Rescue 45 of the Parkside Fire Co. Parkside's crew showed the 59 crew things we might need to know about their Rescue and the 59's crew did the same with the Tower Ladder, which included taking a couple of the Parkside members up in the bucket.
While on the cover the crews handled 3 calls, a mutual aid to Minquadale Fire Company (Building fire, recalled prior to arrival) and 2 calls in the Brandywine Hundred Local (Mulch on fire and wires down).
Thanks to the officers from Brandywine Hundred for the invite and hospitality while we were there and congratulations on the trophies that were won at the convention.
