The Concordville Fire & Protective Association is proud to provide the best in emergency medical care to the residents of our area. We operate one Advanced Life Support (ALS) and two Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, responding to more than 2,500 local emergencies annually. Our vehicles and equipment are constantly updated to provide the most modern advances in equipment and technology when responding to any emergencies our residents may have. Our Department has committed to equip each ambulance with a “Lucas device”, a mechanical CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) machine which could mean the difference between life and death for someone who is in cardiac arrest.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. If this happens, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. SCA usually causes death if it's not treated within minutes. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death among adults over the age of 40 in the United States.

We believe the addition of the Lucas Device to our ambulances will enhance our ability to deliver the most optimal care for residents suffering SCA. Concordville Fire & Protective Association Ambulances are the first EMS units in Delaware County to equip their ambulances with the Lucas 2 CPR devices.
