Accident causes major traffic nightmare for area residents.

Mothers Day morning for many area residents was interrupted with Route 1 southbound being closed for several hours in Chadds Ford Township. At 5:22 AM Concordville Fire Company was dispatched to an Accident with Entrapment on Route 1 just south of Ring Road. Deputy Chief 599A arrived on location with Rescue 59 and reported no entrapment. His report advised that Route 1 Southbound was closed due to a vehicle into a tree that was down on the roadway involving Verizon wires. PECO, Penndot & Verizon were requested. the 1st & 11th Fire Police were requested for traffic control. One Victim was transported to an area hospital for observation. The Fire Department was on location for approximately an hour, Fire police were on location until 9AM when PennDot was able to remove most of the tree opening one lane in the southbound direction.
