Shortly before 6am this morning Delaware County Fireboard dispatched the 1st alarm assignment for a reported apartment building fire in Concord Township. Engine 592 responded and upon arrival split laid the supply up into the complex. Smoke was observed coming from a ground floor apartment. The crew from Engine 592 deployed a hand line to extinguish a small fire on the front porch of the apartment as well as assisting with the evacuation of the building. Tower Ladder 59 arrived and placed ladders to the building, Engine 71 finished the supply line to the hydrant. No extension to any other apartments was found and the fire was placed under control at the 1st 10 minute mark. Crews remained on location until just after 7:15am. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the township and state police fire marshals office. Thank you to the assisting companies; Chester Heights, Rocky Run and Media Fire Companies.
