Company handles residential fire in 1st due

Just after 8pm on Saturday March 14th Company 59 along with mutual aid were dispatched to a residential dwelling fire in Thornbury Township. Engine 592 arrived with nothing showing, however smoke was soon found to be coming from the home and the assignment was upgraded to a working building fire. Engine 592’s crew placed a 1.75” hand line in service to begin fire attack. Tower Ladder 59 arrived and began truck company functions assisted by Truck 46. Engine 71 dropped a supply line into Engine 592 from a nearby hydrant. Additional manpower and resources arrived and assisted with checking for extension, overhaul and ventilation of the home as well as other fire ground requirements.

Cause of the fire is under investigation by the township fire marshals office. There were no injuries. All companies were clear the scene by 10:30pm.
