Monday September 27th just before 8am Company 59 was alerted for a Motor Vehicle Accident on Route 1 in Chadds Ford Township. Units arrived to find one vehicle with fire in the engine compartment spreading into the passenger compartment. The crew of Rescue 59 placed a hand line in service to extinguish the fire. EMS units treated and transported the injured occupants for minor injuries. All units were clear within an hour.
Note: While the units were operating at this accident a second accident occurred on the Northbound lanes of Route 1. There were no injuries and none of the vehicles involved were fire or police units. We would like to remind drivers to use caution while driving past accident or emergency scenes.
