Structure Fire – Barn February 14th at approximately 20:20hrs. Concordville Fire Company was dispatched for a reported structure fire involving a barn in the five hundred block of Cheyney Rd in Thornbury Twp. While enroute, Fireboard advised that multiple callers were reporting the barn as well involved. EMS Captain O'Leary arrived on location and confirmed a fully involved barn. Engine 592 arrived and laid approximately five hundred feet of 5-inch supply line to the hydrant at Glen Mills Road and Cheyney Road. Crews initiated an exterior defensive fire attack. Livestock (goats) self-extricated from the structure prior to crew intervention. Firefighters removed chickens from an adjacent chicken coop to ensure their safety. Crews operated 1¾-inch and 2½-inch handlines, along with portable hose monitors. The ladder pipe from Chester County Ladder 25 was placed in service to assist with knocking down the bulk of the fire.
