| Fire Prevention Week™ is October 4–10, 2026. “Charge Into Fire Safety™. Safe Charging Is a Superpower” focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer. Along with charging safety tips for adults, NFPA offers kid-focused messaging to help children understand both the power and the potential dangers of lithium-ion batteries. These resources show kids how they can play an active role in staying safe whenever they use or charge devices at home or school.
From lesson plans and videos to hands-on activities, these materials reinforce important safety messages in fun, age-appropriate ways, making it easy for educators to bring lithium-ion battery safety into the classroom at any time of year.
