As part of the strategic apparatus replacement plan it was decided that Engine 59-3 was too good of a truck to replace at an early age. The Engine works well for the fire company, it has served us well and the decision was made to keep it for another 10-years if possible.
At the May Fire Company meeting it was approved and voted to send 593, a 2000 Pierce Quantum Engine out for a partial refurbishment. Work to be performed such; upgrade of all emergency lighting, new reflective striping to current NFPA standards and also match the rest of the fleet, a rebuild and certification of the pump, engine adjustment & tune up, and the project is finalized with some body work to repair some corrosion and a complete new painting of the exterior.
In late June Engine 593 was dropped off at Marco Equipment Services in Honey Brook PA for the work to begin. Work is scheduled to take approximately 3 months.
Pictures of the progress will be posted as they become available, keep checking back.
