Shortly after 11pm Company and Ambulance 59 and Rescue 71 (responding to assist while 59 units were at West Chester Training Center for drill) were dispatched to US Route 1 and Cheyney Road for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries. Medic 597A arrived and found entrapment and several injuries. They requested a second medic adding Medic 104-7D. Rescue 59 and 71 arrived and began extrication of the trapped patient. Crews contended with an active fuel leak from the vehicle while they worked to free the patient. The patient was extricated within 8 minutes of the arrival of the Rescues. A total of 3 patients were transported from this incident.
