Large Brush Fire in Concord Township

Shortly before 1pm Company 59 was dispatched to the area of Brinton Lake Road and Spring Valley Road for a reported brush fire. Units arrived and found the fire to be along the PECO right away off Spring Valley and rapidly extending towards Temple Road and the houses on Sawmill Road. Units from Bethel, Chester Heights, Longwood, Ogden, Rocky Run and Aston were called to assist with suppression efforts. Units operated for over 2 1/2 hours on the fire and were hampered by the strong winds. No homes were damaged from the fire. Crews worked from both the Spring Valley and the Temple Road side to contain the fire.
Brookhaven Fire Co Squad 52 coved the local while the units were on this fire.
