In the early morning hours Monday April 20th Concordville Fire Company was dispatched to a building fire with reported smoke in basement. Engine 59-2 arrived and found a light smoke condition in the basement and first floor of the dwelling. Initial primary search yielded no cause for the smoke condition. Co levels of the basement and all upper floors were elevated as well. After an extensive search of the basement area where the smoke condition was heaviest, smoldering rags and a furniture refinishing applicator were identified as the cause of the smoke condition. Concordville was assisted by Longwood Fire Company and the Pennsbury Chester County Tanker Task Force due to this area of Chadds Ford did not have Hydrants available to support the fire department. 59 Command notified and turned the incident over to the Chadds Ford Fire Marshal. The units were on location for 90 minutes.
