On Monday, February 22nd, at 10:45a.m., the Concordville Fire Company was dispatched to a house in Concord Township where it was reported that there was smoke coming from the dwelling. Engine 59-2 arrived on scene to find a single story, ranch style house with smoke coming from the roof and eves of the house. The house was undergoing some extensive renovations. The crew from 59-2 placed a 5 inch supply line from the nearest hydrant to the house and deployed a hand line to extinguish the fire. The fire appeared to be in the area of the chimney and extended into the walls and attic of the house. The fire was placed under control at 11:05 hours by Chief Nelling. Crews from Company 59 and mutual aid units from Chester Heights, Rocky Run, and Media Fire Companies remained on scene for over two hours to complete some extensive overhaul in the building.
